Lovie Pignata is a Bronx based artist who is resourceful in activating public spaces with site relevant themes in interactive installations. She incorporates local history, culture, wildlife and nature along with impractical or whimsical elements. Lovie works in a variety of mediums to achieve the desired end result. She’s used upcycled canoes, poured concrete and carved ice. Adapting to new materials and sharing the experience is often part of her process. Her drawings are filled with details and entwined with lines and shadows. Whether she is working in two or three dimensions, she creates space that invites viewers to be part of the work.
