As the Winner of the 2024 Governors Island Ice Sculpture Show sponsored by Governors Island Conservancy and Times Square Arts, my winning ice carving, Smitten was recreated in large scale by professional ice carvers of Okamoto Studio in Times Square for their annual Valentine’s Day celebration, ‘Love in Times Square’. Measuring 11’x8’x3’ and 12,000 pounds, the ice sculpture served as a backdrop for weddings and proposals for Valentine’s Day and continued to be an attraction for five more days for over a hundred thousand visitors.
